Stockdale breaks Chelsea in Stamford.

Chelsea's Christmas time is really blue. Villas Boas' team was stopped by Fuhlam in Stamford Bridge with a 1:1 draw. The intense second half was not enough for the home players whose trials were saved by a very fit David Stockdale who was simply amazing. At the last gasp Pajitim Kasami missed the final hit kicking on Peter Cech's body the guests match-ball.
Fuhlam was coming out from the hard defeat in "Craven Cottage" against Manchester. Red devils scored the cottagers 5 goals and spread their wings with an easy win. They never won in such a easy way, but today Martin Jol's elf found his proud again and resisted to Chelsea's pressure.

Juan Mata opening scoring.

The game was quite slow in the first half; but it became very thrilling after the pause when Juan Mata found out of the blue the opening scoring with a left shot who beated the guiltless Stockdale.
Philippe Senderos gives Bryan Ruiz the ball which takes the guests to the equalize. The costarican wing flanks for Dempsey who scored in the 56th minute.

Stockdale kept the
Cottagers in the game.

Stockdale was the protagonist of the rest of the match. The keeper saved on a very dangerous shot by Daniel Sturridge whose match ended when Drogba came in, while Torres remained just a ghost even though he should have gained a penalty that the reeferee Friendly didn't give.
The number 12 used each part of his body to stop blues efforts and denied John Terry the leading goal in the 60th minute.

Mereiles missed the match-ball.

Mereiles was the most dangerous when he controled the ball in the box and shot a few centimetres wide closed to the post. The portugueise midfielder searches his second PL goal with a header but Stockdale saves agains, even on Drogba. The last chance was for Malouda whose bomb was punched away in corner.
Kasami could condamn Villas Boas to the defeat but he shot very shy into Cech's arms.
The derby ended with another draw for Chelsea who can also be considered lucky.
