I believe that governments don't play an important role in preserving the natural environment, but, at the same time, I think that they should care a lot about that. I will try to explain how serious the current situation is, adding personal experience and also real facts, that are known almost worldwide, but are instead considered irrilevant by some thoughtless people.

Firstly, I would like to start my analysis exposing the more and more dangerous natural state. Indeed, since civilization beagn, our planet has increasingly been exploited. However, the capital point was reached at the time of the Industrial Revolution: air pollution spread, especially in European cities, bringing about damaging effects for human's health. Nowadays, this harmful phenomenon is quickly developing in other countries, such as India and China, leading to injurious effects. Moreover, further environmental destruction is being carried out at the current time: a valid example could be deforestation, which has been done following the same previous modality. In addiction, deforestation has consequences not only on human beings, but also on all the natual environment. Consequently, more and more animal species are disappearing and the landscape is spoiled.

Threfore, I believe that, subsequently, governments have the responsibility to take under control all the activities that damage the natural environment, promoting alternative resources, like solar energy, that are not polluting. Unfortunately, till today they have acted in a very bad way, they have not been able to find an alternative solution.
With regarding to man's individual way of acting towards the natural environment, I consider that everyone must be respectful towards the entire natural system, also as not to damage himself. For this reason, his behaviour has to be in line with the rules: it is necessary to have a proper system of rubbish collection.
Concluding, I think that every person must care for the planet's health, so as not to damage themselves and future generations. This implies also government's duty and if they don't fulfil it, we are obbliged to claim for it, also protesting against their carelessness. Otherwise the earth will gradually become no longer liveable, as is shown in apocalyptic movies.
